As Christmas draws closer in these difficult times, I often think back to my experiences in Sydney, Australia; I was far from home and watching other people prepare for Christmas as I walked past people sleeping rough. I am thankful that in a time when so many people have lost their jobs due to the COVID19 pandemic and now face the real risk of being evicted from their homes to face an uncertain future on the streets, that the company that I work for is still in business and that we can pay still the bills that come in. My heart goes out for all those who across the world are not so fortunate. We know that this year there will be a lot of people who will be facing choices on food or presents for their children. Anyone who knows me, knows that I have issues with watching people suffering for whatever reason. I am one of those guys, who does try to close my eyes and distance myself from reality, but that is not because I don’t care; it is because I care too much. I do know that one day it could be me in that position for nothing in life is certain.

I think that at Christmas we should be thankful to the family around us, who accept us for all our faults and go out of their way to make Christmas special. We should spare some time to think of others less fortunate, think about what our lives would be like if we found ourselves alone at Christmas.

With these thoughts pressing on my mind, I have been working on a new mix of my song Angels which is going through the process of being released in all the usual places. This song will definitely not make you feel happy that it is Christmas, but I would hope by listening to the song that you may feel a little more thoughtful about those who are going through these hard times.
