I’m scared like everyone, doing what has to be done. the opening line of this song says it all really, we do the best we can even when we would rather run away from it. Not running from a fight, fighting for what we think is right and although I have said things that hurt people, many times it has been unintentional. I know my wife has often pulled me up on my lack of tact and then she will say something to me that I find hurtful. None of us are perfect and although we were brought up one way, who are we to say what is right?

Raising kids in this brave new world is a challenging experience. In these times there is so much opportunity to make something of yourself and yet, those little things that the previous generation took for granted now seem harder to obtain, but I know that we have to adapt and accept that changes are part of life. For good or bad we have to make the best of it, to try to find some happiness and be there for the people who need us; to be the best we can.

Verse 1
I’m scared like everyone,
doing what has to be done.
Sometimes it’s not much fun,
not much fun.
Not running from a fight,
fighting for what you think is right.

Chorus
We say things that hurt, never meaning to hurt,
no matter how hard we work, things they just seem to go wrong.
We try to be strong, and we fight to go on.
May be we’re foolish, but we try the best we can.

Verse 2
The future who can see?
we’re a speck on eternity.
Raising kids for our brave new world,
a brave new world.
Changes come endlessly,
and they say what will be will be.

Chorus
We say things that hurt, never meaning to hurt,
no matter how hard we work, things they just seem to go wrong.
We try to be strong, and we fight to go on.
May be we’re foolish, but we try the best we can.

Mid
If you find love you’re lucky,
don’t let it die.
Try your best to be happy
and live your life.

Chorus
We say things that hurt, never meaning to hurt,
no matter how hard we work, things they just seem to go wrong.
We try to be strong, and we fight to go on.
May be we’re foolish, but we try the best we can.
