I still love this song after 31 years. There is never enough time to record my music and it has taken 31 years to return to a song that I had quickly put down on a 4 track.

I was so shy when I wrote this song, there were girls I liked but at that time lacked the confidence to say how I felt. I watched other men move in and break their hearts. I wrote how I felt in this song. Today I with someone who I have the same feelings, time passes quickly when we are together. I am a lucky man.

Verse One
I wish I could tell you just what I feel for you.
But if I told you, I might just lose you.
I couldn’t take it, if you ever went away
As a friend I am near you and as a friend I’ll stay

Verse Two
We talk only moments but the hours melt away
I sit in the silence and wonder what you’d say
On just to hold you and tell you that I care
but I couldn’t change it, I’m scared of losing you

Chorus
Maybe one day you’ll realise,
just what you mean to me.
To tell you what I feel for you,
oh it’s so hard, it’s the hardest thing to say

Verse Three
Oh I can see it in your eyes, just what you feel for him
And it’s tearing me apart, cause I know I cannot win.
He’s just using you, you’re just another little number in his little black book.
Oh I know you love this man, but he’ll break your heart.

Chorus
Maybe one day you’ll realise,
just what you mean to me.
To tell you what I feel for you,
oh it’s so hard, it’s the hardest thing to say
oh it’s so hard, it’s the hardest step to take

Chorus
Maybe one day you’ll realise,
just what you mean to me.
To tell you what I feel for you,
oh it’s so hard, it’s the hardest thing to say
oh it’s so hard, it’s the hardest step to take

RECORDING NOTES

The song is still work in progress, but it is close to where I want it to go. I just need to live with it for a while.
