THE INSPIRATION

When you live a hectic life, I sometimes need to find peace, get away from it all. My wife has often spoke about her love of Scotland and the feeling that she get when she is miles from anywhere. If we lived closer I guess I would be very tempted. No Sound is something I sometimes crave for in a way I never did when I was younger, I guess things just get to me more now and yet can my wife get me to go out walking with her? I am afraid not my mistress wouldn’t like it, by mistress I mean my music of course.

My music consumes me and often leave me exhausted, but it is a drug that I cannot go without and yet the constant guitar, bass lines etc that are always in the background make me appreciate those quite times when I can just listen to the wind and feast my eyes on the landscape. Maybe I should take up yoga?

RECORDING NOTES

No Sound is one of my latest recordings, it is still work in progress. For those who like to know what I used to record it, well I recorded No Sound on my IMac using Logic 9. I use a Sure SM58 connected via a m-audio fast track usb device and I play a Fender Telecaster.

No Sound

No Sound

Verse 1
A cold wind blows, the road is empty,
there is no sound, there is no sound
There is no hate, there is no anger
Just me alone searching for calm.

Chorus
I feel so free, no one can hurt me
I am at peace, its my release
I plant my feet, the earth it holds me
for miles around there is no sound

Verse 2
I find my feet and they just take me
from valley floor to mountain side
and I just breath, this land's before me
the storm within slowly subsides.

Chorus
I feel so free, no one can hurt me
I am at peace, its my release
I plant my feet, the earth it holds me
for miles around there is no sound.
