This song was written at my lowest point, when everything around me was crumbling. My career that I had fought so hard for was gone. The one thing that kept me from falling apart was my wife Susie. There are times even now that all I need is to have a hug.

Verse 1
Torn by emotion, encircled by an ocean
no fire can make me feel warm.
I go through the motions and I’m juggling notions
I’m feeling lost and alone.
I need you to hold me and take me in your arms
I need you to hold me and keep me from harm

Chorus
Hold me in your arms
tell me that you care
Hold me in your arms
for I despair

Verse 2
I feel the world it hates me, fate has betrayed me
I want to curl up and die
Please don’t you forsake me, I need you to save me
I need you here by my side.
Inside I’m empty and its starting to show
darling don’t hate me I need you so

Chorus
Hold me in your arms
tell me that you care
Hold me in your arms
for I despair

Mid
Girl I’ve been cheated from my rightful goal
history’s repeated am I without hope
You say that you love me, no need to despair
but darlin’ I do need you there so baby…

Chorus
Hold me in your arms
tell me that you care
Hold me in your arms
for I despair

RECORDING NOTES

This song always went down well when we were gigging and I have recorded this song before but never in this style, I think that the gentleness suits the song.
