Isolation is a terrible thing, sometimes the only voice you hear is on the TV or the radio and you need something to help you focus on what you want in life. They say it is so easy to give up, but for me it isn’t. It is like an ichy scab I just can’t leave alone. Maybe this is why this website exists? Anyway. I wrote this song from that view point, the voice on the radio trying to encourage the listener not to give up.

Verse 1
You feel alone, in the big city,
I know you wish you weren’t alone.
Tonight’s a long and lonely night,
so I’m here tonight

Verse 2
You got to say that you can make it,
don’t give up cause you’re feeling down.
Tomorrow though its so uncertain,
its another day.

Chorus
Don’t ever give up trying,
don’t let them turn your head around.
Don’t let them ever hurt you
or you’ll hit the ground.

Verse 3
Don’t feel so bad think of tomorrow,
maybe next week your sun will shine.
It takes a little time but you can make it,
you can make it shine.

Chorus
Don’t ever give up trying,
don’t let them turn your head around.
Don’t let them ever hurt you
or you’ll hit the ground.

Mid
And no one sheds a tear for the down and outs in this world.
and no one sheds a tear for the lost souls in the city.
And no one sheds a tear for their plight there’s no pity,
and no one sheds a tear, no one cries for the lost and alone.
and no one sheds a tear when you’re down and out.

Chorus
Don’t ever give up trying,
don’t let them turn your head around.
Don’t let them ever hurt you
or you’ll hit the ground.

Verse 1 Reprise
You feel alone, in the big city,
I know you wish you weren’t alone.
Tonight’s a long and lonely night,
so I’m here tonight.
